CALL FOR COLLABORATION: FARM2050 NUTRIENT TECHNOLOGY TRIALING PLATFORM LAUNCHES!
The Farm2050 coalition announced today the launch of a ground-breaking initiative to validate technologies in Nutrient management spanning pasture-based dairy, horticulture and row crops. This promises to be a first of its kind collaboration between major agtech players, farming and startup companies, coupled with our unique country partnerships, to provide a global, dual-hemisphere testing and validation platform.
The Farm2050 Nutrient Technology Trialing Platform will identify, validate and demonstrate at scale promising technologies in nutrient management and reduction of water contamination, and enable startups and potential partners to build high fidelity proof points of both economic and environmental value. The initiative will launch in H2 2021 in New Zealand with support from government agency Callaghan Innovation and country partner Agritech NZ. The trial program will deploy to the US in 2022 with partners in high value horticulture, and large-scale row crops, enabling the development of valuable insights year round in diverse ecologies, and agricultural systems.
The initiative is being led by Finistere Ventures NZ Venture Partner, Dean Tilyard and Chief Agronomist, Michael Pereira with co-founder and ex-pat kiwi, Arama Kukutai.
We are now inviting submissions from startups for consideration to include in the NZ trials via a request for participation (“RFP”). Learn more about the project’s announcement and submit your request to participate in trials HERE.
