CropX Acquires Dacom Farm Intelligence

Strengthens Comprehensive Farm Management Platform and Further Establishes Global Footprint

Third Acquisition in 18 Months Adds Advanced Crop Protection Capabilities, 2.7M Acres Under Management, Thousands of Customers and a European Office

TEL AVIV, Israel and Groningen, the Netherlands – August 10, 2021 – CropX, a global agricultural analytics leader, today announced the acquisition of Dacom Farm Intelligence, a leading European crop optimization platform. Adding Dacom’s proven crop protection capabilities, CropX now offers the only comprehensive farm management platform with active irrigation technology, hardware-based soil data, fertilizer management and crop protection capabilities. The acquisition also gives CropX a new stronghold across Europe as it continues to actively expand its global footprint.

“This is our third acquisition since the beginning of 2020 as we continue to execute on our vision of providing the most comprehensive farm management platform for growers around the world. Dacom was the missing puzzle piece for our farm management platform – adding an established foothold in Europe, two decades of European crop data to our global machine learning engines, as well as a critical component – crop protection and recording – to our product mix,” noted CropX CEO Tomer Tzach. “We expect to exponentially expedite our global growth as we integrate our teams and technology.”

CropX provides growers with the information they need to improve farming sustainability – conserving resources, while improving crop yields. With proven technology, an expansive partner network, a first-class service model, and a user-friendly decision support platform, Dacom fits seamlessly into the CropX farm management solution suite. With an additional 2.7 million acres now under management, Dacom also adds over two decades of in-depth data across farms in Europe to the CropX farm management platform. Current CropX and Dacom customers will now have access to a full suite of advanced farm management analytics and automation tools.

“I am very excited to join the rapidly expanding CropX organization,” noted Dacom CEO Janneke Hadders. “Our farmers will benefit from the integrated solutions, data-analysis insights and a customer base from around the globe. The acquisition strongly supports our shared internationalization strategy. Our crop protection capabilities will now leverage CropX data and will help our team solve critical challenges for farming communities across the Netherlands, Middle East and Africa, Europe, North America, and Australia and New Zealand.”

“As the digital ag space has exploded in recent years, we’ve reached a critical juncture due to oversaturation. As the market matures, those leading the current phase of consolidation will be at the forefront of the digital ag and farm management revolution,” said Gideon Soesman, co-founder and managing partner of GreenSoil Investments and director at CropX.

With the acquisition, CropX will establish its European office in Dacom’s current Netherlands headquarters and double the size of its global team. Dacom’s 3,000 customers, spanning both smaller growers and massive market players, add more than 20,000 farms in more than 40 countries to CropX’s portfolio. The deal also expand CropX’s reach into rainfed regions.

“The addition of Dacom also strengthens our sustainable agriculture initiatives by adding another layer of regulatory recording, fertility benchmarking, traceability and carbon credit features. The combined power of CropX and Dacom solutions will help us deliver a complete suite of data-driven farm management prescriptions to growers worldwide,” said John Vikupitz, president, CropX. “We are committed to delivering both the most advanced solutions for all critical farm insights, as well as the simplest automated platform to minimize the time and effort needed from growers. We want growers to be able to work smarter, not harder – their days are already hard enough.”

Effective immediately, all Dacom employees will join CropX, adding European on-farm and client service expertise, as well as software and hardware talent to CropX’s global team.
